Your hosts Michele (he answers to the name of Mick after working seven years in Dublin) and Rory, have both enjoyed success in their respective careers in different areas of the British and Irish health service, Mick as a senior medical scientist and quality officer and Rory as an experienced community pharmacist. Together they ran a successful business before deciding (in the words of some friends and family members) to ‘Live the Dream’.

Both would like to think they can still be of some use to any guests who wish to discuss their medical ailments or perhaps give some advice on medication prescribed. We offer this service discreetly and free of charge of course!

In 2007 Mick and Rory bought the property with the dream of restoring it and turning it into a luxury Bed and Breakfast, as the location and panoramic views create a very special environment that they believe their guests will truly enjoy.

They named their B&B ‘Podere il Cipollaio’ after discovering from a local artist friend that the area where the house is located was formerly called “IL CIPOLLAIO” and can be seen on archaeological maps of the area showing evidence of Etruscan, Greek and Imperial Roman activity as far back as 200BC.

So it was decided and Podere il Cipollaio was born.
